RDA members set sights on qualifying

For the Riding for the Disabled Association, show jumping remains a relatively new discipline in Northern Ireland.

However, there are now plenty of groups who are qualified to compete at the Regional Championships in the hope of qualifying for the Nationals at Hartpury 2015.

All horses and riders were beautifully turned out and a credit to their groups. The day was fine and dry with no wind. Judges Hilary Jones and Fiona Young, together with Violet Jackson and Jane Waugh as Scribes, had the task of deciding who would represent the region and we are most grateful to them.

Banbridge and Moira Group provided delicious soup and tray bakes for everyone, as well as providing a well-earned lunch for the officials. They did a brilliant job and raised funds for their group in the process.

Organisers wish to thank stewards Rosemary Spalding, Gloria Reynolds, Barbara Hanna, Catherine Maybin, Hilary Idzikowska and Kay Walker and to George Stewart and Breda Finn for providing the facilities at Danescroft and for all their help and co-operation on the day. Finally, thanks to Claire Walker for all her hard work organising everything so well.
