Strule Valley hosts successful two-phase show

Strule Valley Riding Club, Omagh, Co Tyrone held a 2-phase show recently at Ecclesville, Fintona.

Organisers wish to thank all those who came along to compete, to Raymond and Pamela Caldwell for building a really nice flowing course, Chris Bogle judging, AJ’s Event Catering and Alison Donnell for looking after the entries.

Well done to the winners in each class. Ciara Owens & Spot won both the 60cm & 70cm classes, Eimear White & Bonnie won the 80cm class, Hollye Walker & Just Dandy won the 90cm class & Rachel Magee & Dougie won the 1 metre class. A special mention must also go to Alan Gilchrist & Indi competing at their first show together!

1 metre: 1st – Dougie & Rachel Magee; 2nd – Blackthorn Admiral & Saskia Hale

Members continue their flatwork training with Mandi King this month, moving to polework training next month while November will see gridwork training will take place and dressage training with Dale Roberts.

Anyone interested in taking part can book with the secretary.

A Demo by Carrie Townsend – Relax, Relieve, Revive - Equine Sports Therapy is planned for Thursday, October 15, at 7pm in the RDA, Omagh. Everyone is very welcome to come along, members & non-members. There will be an admission of £5 to include supper.

Following this on the same night at approximately 8pm will be the Annual General Meeting to which everyone is also invited to come along.

The Dolly Mixture Shield will be presented to the member who has attended the most riding club activities during the year. Last year’s winner was Natasha Gilchrist & Botera Lad.

New members, aged 18+, are very welcome to join and horses must be four+ to come to the club.
