On November 22 Ahoghill YFC held their annual club dinner in the Wild Duck, Portglenone.

A good night’s craic was had by all and the club would like to thank Whyte’s Nights for providing the entertainment and to YFC president Martyn Blair and his wife Barbara for being the guests of honour.

After the dinner prizes were given out celebrating members’ achievements throughout the past year.

Prizewinners were as follows: The Robert Gault Cup for Best Senior Male – Michael Patterson, John McElderry Cup for Best Senior Female- Gemma Andrews, William Hood Cup for Best Junior Male – Stuart Gillespie, Robert Dick Cup for Best Junior Female – Rachael Chesney, Stevensons & Co Cup for Best New Member – Richard Coleman, Hugh Cameron Challenge Cup for Senior Public Speaking – Kirsty Speers, Junior Public Speaking – Rachael Chesney, Issac Andrew Cup for Club Dairy judging – Kirsty Speers, David Clarke Perpetual Cup for Best Dairy at area level – Jason Benton, Stuart Gillespie and Rachel Gillespie, Boyd & Kernohan Cup for Senior Beef – Jonathon Watson, George Kerr Cup for Junior Beef – Louise Gillespie, McWhirter Cup for Best Beef at area level – Jason Benton, Thompson Cup for Senior Sheep – Jason Benton, Smithkline Animal Shield Cup for Junior Sheep – Louise Gillespie, Senior Ulster Young Farmer – Jason Benton, Lucy Hurrell and Stuart Gillespie, Junior Ulster Young Farmer – Tara McClure, Silage Assessment – Lucy Hurrell and Kirsty Speers.

Prizes were also awarded for floral art, homemaker and various other competitions.
