On Wednesday, 15th April the N.I. Aberdeen Angus cattle club held its annual spring show and sale of Aberdeen Angus crossbred cattle at Dungannon Farmers Mart.
An entry of just under 40 head of stock saw prices exceed expectations with many of our regular buyers leaving empty handed. Judging was in the capable hands of Mr John Blackburn Clogher. John found his 1st prize beef bullock in the form of a 560kg steer selling at £1120 (200.00) presented by G Allen Portadown, the same vendor also received £980 500kg (196.00); Meanwhile 1st prized beef Heifer was also presented by G Allen Portadown she sold at £1155 580kg (199.00). F Moore Newtownabbey received a £1000 for his 520kg Heifer (192.00). In the store section 1st prize steer was won by W McKenna Clogher for his 385kg steer at £895 (232.00) the same vendor also received £810 355kg steer (228.20). P Hurrell Randalstown £910 445kg Steer (205.00), £810 375kg Steer (216.00), £790 375kg Steer (210.70), £780 355kg Steer (220.00), £700 315kg Steer (222.20), £650 330kg Steer (197.00).
