This year’s Castlewellan Show was once again host to the final of the Bank of Ireland Blonde Calf Championship.
Organised by the Northern Ireland Blonde Club, members pulled out all the stops at the qualifying shows during the summer months, to produce a fantastic final show of pedigree calves.
Judge Kendal Jackson, of the Stubbswalden herd, Doncaster, had his work cut out to pick a champion with the title going to a 12 month old home-bred bull calf, Budore Jim-Bob (pictured), owned by Paul and Eamon McGarry, Dundrod.
Reserve Champion went to new club member, Jim McCabe, with his smart heifer, Shanvalley Jocelyn. Third place was awarded to Ballymcann Jasper, owned by the Johnston family, Clogher.
The club would like to thank everyone for supporting this competition, especially Bank Of Ireland, for their continued sponsorship. Thanks is also extended to all breeders who brought out their stock.
