On 13th August Richard Beattie Livestock Sales annual barbecue and barn dance held on Glenpark Road at his family farm raised a staggering £22,504.80.
The chosen charities for this year’s event were Care for Cancer-Omagh, Cancer Research and Marie Curie.
The night was extremely well supported by the local community and by friends from throughout the province.
A big thank you from Richard and Selina Beattie to Cappagh YFC, City Of Derry YFC, William and Ray Wilson, James O’Hagan and to all of other voluntary helpers who helped in any way to make this event such a success for the above charities.
A total of 2,224 voluntary hours was needed to run this year’s event with 109 helpers working hard on the night, with a lot of help before and after this event.
Also a big thank you to Hempton’ Bar Newtownstewart, Strathroy Dairies, Robert Cummings, Richard Hawkes’s Transport, Ben Monaghan for the use of their equipment and support, Terry McLaughlin for all his photographs and to all the other press for sending out reporters on the night. Without the help and support of all working together this event could not go ahead, so once again thanks to all.
