As the club meetings for Ahoghill Young Farmers’ Club for 2015-16 come to an end, a busy summer is ahead.
In February, the club held an exchange meeting with Kilraughts YFC where members got to know each other during a roller blading disco.
The club also had four members take part in “The Cube” which was part of the County Big Night held in Tullyglass.
The members Jason Benton, Craig Hamilton, Paul Hurrell and Lucy Hurrell had to take part in games similar to those on the TV show.
In March, the club had a trip to Dundonald for a night of Crazy Golf and ice skating. To bring the club meetings for the year to an end, the club went to We Are Vertigo for a night of trampolining which was a great night for everyone.
The club had success at the County Antrim AGM where Ahoghill YFC was awarded second in Co Antrim most efficient club 2015-16, Kathryn Thompson was awarded first Co Antrim most efficient secretary and Michelle Petticrew was awarded third in Co Antrim most efficient PRO.
The club has also made it through to the final stages of the YFCU Club of the Year video which the club had to create a 10 minute video for.
The club would like to thank all committee members who have worked so hard in the past year to make the club such a success and wish the members taking up their new positions on the 2016-17 committee all the best for the year ahead.
The club is celebrating its 85th anniversary this year and is holding a charity car wash on Saturday 16th April in Cullybackey beside Bridge Filling Station with all donations going to Turning Point NI.
The annual church service will be held in 1st Ahoghill Church on Sunday 17th April at 11.30am and everyone is invited to come along to this service.
A date for your diary is the 85th anniversary dinner which is being held on the 26th November 2016 in the Leighinmohr House Hotel, more details will follow.
