Cloughmills Vintage Club Tractor Road Run takes place on Saturday 25th July.
About the same time as the motorbikes will be starting to race at high speeds around Armoy, just a few miles up the road in the neighbouring village of Cloughmills there will be machinery of a much slower nature heading out in a different direction. At 11am on Saturday morning a tractor road run, which has been planned by the members of Cloughmills Vintage Club, will leave the village to take part in a 24-mile ‘round trip’ before returning back to Cloughmills later in the afternoon. The run will not be restricted to vintage models as tractors of any age will be welcomed. Registration of the tractors taking part will begin in The Station Yard in Cloughmills at 10am,
The entry fee is £10, and the money raised from the event will be presented to a local charity at a later date. After leaving Cloughmills on Saturday the tractors will head for the village of Clough, then on to Newtowncrommelin and along several other roads before eventually arriving at the Clinty Quarry carpark, on the Doury Road, for the comfort stop. The gentleman pictured here is Cloughmills Vintage Club member John Fleming, who is always there to lend a helping hand when it comes to planning the routes of fundraising road runs for the club.
