Co Donegal farming accident victim is named

The man killed in a farming accident in Burt, Co Donegal on Wednesday has been named as Patrick Dowds.

It is understood Mr Dowds (65) was on land at his farm at Toulette when he was attacked by a bull.

His twin brother, George, was also injured and has since been discharged from Letterkenny General Hospital.

The incident has said to have occurred around 2.30pm on Wednesday.

Mr Dowds’ death has shocked the tight-knit local community, with many remembering him as a popular man and a good neighbour, who was very well-known in the local area.
