Cull cows sold to a strong trade at Markethill

Six men arrested after 'serious assault' in Co Antrim bar.
Police said that at around 6pm a group of men entered McConnell's Bar on Main Street in Doagh with weapons including hammers and baseball bats before attacking a man in his 40s.
The man was taken to hospital where he's being treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Detective Sergeant Robinson said: "We believe that the males then left the scene on foot to waiting cars and left the area.

An entry of 130 cull cows at Markethill on Tuesday 14th June sold in a very strong trade for all classes.

Beef-bred cows to £160 for 800k DAQ at £1280. All good quality cows from £125 to £144 for 694k at £1000. Fleshed Friesian cows to £119 for 650k at £775 and up to £850 for 760k. Main demand from £105 to £116 per 100 kilos. Second quality cows from £85 to £100 per 100 kilos with the poorest quality friesians from £55 to £75 per 100 kilos. Clean cattle to £176 for 660k at £1160.

Main demand from £280 to £420 each. Heifer calves sold to £490 for a 2 week old Simm followed by £400 for a Simm. Main trade from £220 to £345 each.
