Dungiven YFC had a fantastic weekend at the recent YFCU AGM & Conference held at the La Mon Hotel in Belfast.
Dungiven YFC were very proud of the following members who won the following prizes: Northern Ireland Junior Member of the Year went to Chloe Miller. Chloe received the William Wilson Cup, a commemorative shield and £100 worth of shopping vouchers. Top Secretary in Northern Ireland went to Clare Buchanan, who received the new cup provided by the outgoing president Martyn Blair and his wife, Barbara Blair.
Cups were also awarded to James Purcell who gained first place in the silage making competition and Sam Patterson who came first in the Beef Section in the Senior Ulster Young Farmer of the year.
Sam also got placed second in Countryside Management section, second in the Farm Safety Section, second in the Finance Section and second Best Under 21.
Congratulations to all these members who put a lot of hard work and commitment into achieving these awards.
The club’s success did not stop here as Hannah Connell, Chloe Miller and Matthew Gault all gained places at the County Dairy Stock Judging heats. They will now attend the annual Dairy Stock Judging finals which will be held in July at Greenmount, CAFRE.
At the recent Country Tractor Handling event, Matthew Gault was placed first. He will go through to the Northern Ireland finals, which will be held at Balmoral Show. Well done to the success of all these YFC members.
