At Saturday’s cattle sale an excellent entry of quality stock met a very sharp trade with a large turnout of buyers present.
In the weanling section top price of £805 was paid for a 314kg from a Donaghmore farm for a weanling heifer followed by £620 for a 258kg heifer. A 210kg heifer sold for £480 with a 320 heifer making £495.
Male weanlings reach £760 for a 326kg lot followed by £730 for a 318kg steer. A 298 kg steer reached £635. In the bullock section a 426kg lot reached £920 for a Dromore producer who also received £795 for a 410kg lot followed by 552kg solf for £1040.
Heifers sold to £935 for a 528kg lot from a Dromara farm.
Cows and calves sold well and topped at £1660 for a choice lot, followed by £1240. A Donaghmore farmer sold three lots at £1250 and £1150 twice.
In the fat cow ring 520kgs made £810 followed by 540kg at £780 for a Banbridge seller.
