Firm trade for stores and weanlings at Markethill

An entry of 600 store cattle and weanlings at Markethill on Saturday 5th March continued to sell in a very firm trade. Buyers from throughout Northern Ireland were in attendance.

HEIFERS: The 195 store heifers sold in an excellent demand with good quality middleweights to £211 for 400k at £850 from a Keady farmer. Main demand from £180 to £207 per 100 kilos. Forward heifers to £1115 for 578k from a Newtownbutler farmer (193). All good quality lots from £177 to £195 for 520k at £1015 from a Newtownhamilton farmer. Second quality heifers sold from £160 to £175 per 100 kilos.
