Firmer trade for sheep at Markethill

An entry of 750 sheep at Markethill on Wednesday 30th December sold in a noticeably firmer trade for fat lambs. Cull ewe trade was steady.

Heavy lambs sold to £78.20 for 25 kilos (313p) for a Dungannon farmer. Main demand sold from 290p to 308p per kilo for 25 kilos at £77 each. The entire entry of 380 heavy lambs averaged 25.1 kilos at £75 each (299p).

Middleweight lambs sold from 290p to 313p per kilo for 20.1 kilos at £63 each.

Store lambs sold to 326p per kilo for 19.3 kilos at £63 each. All good quality pens sold from 300p to 321p per kilo.
