Good entry of quality cattle at Downpatrick

At the fortnightly cattle sale on Monday night 14th December 2015, there was a good entry of quality store cattle. A Ballykinlar farmer toped the sale with a AA bullock at 558kg £925 (1.66ppk). In the light weight heifer category, a Downpatrick farmer presented a SAL at 276kg £430 (1.56ppk). Leading prices in all categories as follows:

HEIFERS: Downpatrick farmer 276kg SAL £430 (1.56ppk), Ardglass farmer 446kg CH £600 (1.36ppk), Newcastle farmer 318kg DAQ £425 (1.34ppk), Dromara farmer 236kg SAL £300 (1.27ppk), Dromore farmer 206kg lIM £255 (1.24ppk), Glassdrummond farmer 222kg SAL £270 (1.22ppk), Ardglass farmer 400kg AA £480 (1.20ppk), Dromara farmer 382kg BB £420 (1.10PPK) and 282kg LIM £282 (1.67ppk).

At the weekly sheep sale on Saturday 12th December, fat lambs sold to £73.50 and fat ewes to £80.00.
