Great start to the year for Kells and Connor Young Farmers

KELLS and Connor YFC had their first club meeting on 6th September. This was a barbecue and games night. The club welcomed eight new members that night.

Following this the club had a zumba night during which members showed off some of their moves. A farm visit to sponsors Bruce’s Hill Cattle Company was next where they demonstrated how to prepare a bull for showing and showed the club their prize winning cattle. It was then time for some crazy golf.

The club had their Halloween party next were they had games and then prizes for best dressed boy who was James Fullerton and best dressed girl Rachel Davidson. Members took part in the Ulster Young Farmer competition on 22nd November. The latest meeting club members had a trip to the cinema to see the movie Gambit.

On Friday 12th October 22 members attended the annual county dinner at Tullyglass. This night was enjoyed by all and the club also had Alexander Curry, Gemma Young and Rachel Barr all receiving prizes for silage assessment, most efficient secretary and art.

On 27th November members from Kells and Connor YFC got their Halloween costumes on and helped out with the Halloween walk in Kells village.

The club had their annual club dinner with a disco on Saturday 24th November in the Ross Park Hotel. Forty members attended and a great night was had by all.

The club’s next meeting will a children’s Christmas Party which will be held on Thursday 13th December in Fernisky Orange Hall at 7.30pm. Everyone is very welcome to join the club and there may even be a visit from Santa.

In the new year on Sunday 13th January the club will be holding their evening church service. This year it is being held in Kells Presbyterian Church.
