Harper students dine out

Owen Brennan will be the guest speaker at the dinner in Shropshire of the Harper-Ireland Club on Friday 27th.

The Harper-Ireland Club is the Club for the over 100 students from Ireland enrolled on courses at Harper Adams University.

Owen Brennan grew up on a small family merchant and farming business in Co Carlow. He graduated in agriculture from UCD in 1982 and MBA in 1992. Owen’s business career has focused on animal nutrition firstly with Connolly’s Red Mills and then with Nutec and now Devenish of which he is now Executive Chairman.

Owen has served as President of the Northern Ireland Grain Trade, on the Northern Ireland Food Strategy Board and for seven years as Chairman of the Livestock & Meat commission.

Adam Patterson from Crumlin, will chair the dinner. Adam is studying Agricultural Engineering at Harper. The incoming Harper-Ireland Club chairman for 2015/16 is James Law from Ederney in Co. Fermanagh.
