The chief executive of the National Sheep Association has praised lamb processor, Dunbia for its service to the sheep industry.

Mr Phil Stocker made his comments following a visit to Dunbia’s facility in Llanybydder where the company operates a single-species, lamb facility.

He was given a full tour of the operation and shared views with key Dunbia personnel including Alison Harvey, agriculture manager for lamb procurement, Wyn Williams, procurement strategy manager and Anthony Davies, factory manager.

“I enjoyed a fascinating visit to Dunbia in Llanybydder and came away clearly of the view that Dunbia are doing an incredible amount of work to optimise the value of lamb and in turn doing the sheep industry a huge service.”

Dunbia is the largest processor of lamb in the UK processing over 1.7m lambs per year.

“Dunbia has invested heavily in our lamb operation in Wales in recent years,” comments Alison Harvey.

“Dunbia adopts a partnership approach with our suppliers to ensure that together we have a sheep industry which is recognised worldwide and which benefits every link in the supply chain.”
