Catalogues are available for Holstein NI’s forthcoming bull show and sale at Kilrea Mart.
Sponsored by Semex, the sale on Tuesday 6th October 2015 has attracted an entry of 13 bulls from many of the province’s leading pedigree herds.
Judging gets underway at 11.00am, and is in the capable hands of HYB co-ordinator Andrew Kennedy from Ballymena.
The auction will commence immediately after the mart’s weekly commercial sale.
The bulls on offer range in age from March 2014 to September 2014, and are sons of leading AI sires such as SSI SL Mozygus, Morningview Legend, Crackholm Fever, Ballycairn Oman Pello, Va-Early Dawn Sudan, Prehen Omen, Ri-Val-Re Niagra, Larcrest Cancun, Ladys Manor Graf La-Bron, Welcome Armitage Pesky, Gen-I-Beq Sammy, Golden PP red, and the home-bred Picston Shottle son Glasson Ashby.
Herds represented in the catalogue include Drumeil, Glasson, Killane, Majestic, Prehen, Relough, and Towerview.
Several of the bulls catalogued boast outcross pedigrees, and have PLI values to a top of £465.
They are bred from world-leading and proven cow families, and are backed by up to 11 generations of VG and EX dams, and seven straight generations of EX dams.
All bulls are tested and vaccinated for BVD.
