Next week’s Holstein NI show and sale at Moira has attracted an entry of 28 freshly calved heifers and young cows.
Sponsored by Cogent UK, judging commences at 10.30am and is in the capable hands of the company’s WMS evaluator Dennis Torrens.
The sale gets underway at 11.30am on Wednesday 21st January.
Entries have been catalogued from leading herds such as Abercorn, Ardmore, Ards, Hilltara, Laurelhill, Mainview, Newry and Relough.
The heifers and cows on offer are daughters of top AI sires, including End Story, Wyman, Sid, Windbrook, Alchemy, Artes, Shot Trigger, Gunnar, McCormick and Loader.
A spokesman for Holstein NI said: “The monthly sale at Moira attracts a quality line-up of pedigree heifers and young cows from many of the Province’s top herds.
“Quality is guaranteed, with milking stock backed by generation after generation of proven pedigrees, high yields and good components. It’s a one-stop shop for animals to suit all systems and requirements, with prices ranging from 1,100gns to a top of 3,020gns at last month’s sale.”
The Pedigree Sales Arena is located just off the M1 motorway at junction 9.
