Last year over 850 people visited the Housing Executive’s stand at the Balmoral Show with a range of enquiries.
During their visit they found out how, for over 40 years, the Housing Executive has put the rural community at the centre of its work.
This year the Housing Executive’s team is back in the DARD pavilion and the stand is located near the marquee’s main entrance. They will be there to answer questions on testing for housing need in rural areas, how the Housing Executive manages the development of new homes, give guidance on home improvement grants and how the organisation helps people live independently at home for longer.
Siobhan McCauley, Housing Executive’s Director for Regional Services, who is delighted with the Rural Unit’s continued participation at Balmoral Show commented: “Our team for this year’s show has lots of information on what we do in rural communities. I would encourage anyone attending Balmoral Show 2015 to pop along to the DARD pavilion and visit our stand. We’ll have a wealth of information on new housing schemes, grants available for the home, including boiler replacement and adaptations, on how to form/join an oil buying club and to take note of our tips on decreasing energy costs.”
