This year’s Balmoral Show will provide HVS Animal Health with a unique opportunity to profile the company’s Liquid Gold® range of combined mineral and vitamin drenches.
“I can confirm that we have received an extremely positive response from farmers both here in Northern Ireland and throughout the UK as a whole,” explained HVS Animal Health’s Paul Elwood.
“The products contain all of the minerals and vitamins required by dairy cows, beef cattle and sheep with Zinc, Manganese and Copper made available solely in a chelated form.”
Paul continued: “Increasingly, farmers must seek to maximise the performance of their livestock. The Liquid Gold range has been developed to meet this specific requirement.”
Where milk production is concerned Liquid Gold Dairy can be used at drying off, prior to first service and with problem cows.
Trials, carried out last year, have confirmed that the use of Liquid Gold Dairy will encourage stronger heats and reduce problems associated with retained cleansings and post calving metabolic disorders.
“Calves will also be born with lots of vigour,” Paul Elwood commented.
Paul went on to highlight the importance of ensuring that the nutritional requirements, of both young beef cattle, dairy replacements and breeding stock are met during the spring months.
“Liquid Gold can be given to store cattle and dairy replacements to improve growth rates. Suckler cows will benefit in terms of improved fertility levels and growth rates,” he said.
“The dosage rates are: weanlings - 50 mls per head, yearlings – 60 mls per head, finishers - 100mls and suckler cows – 100 mls per head.
“Maiden heifers going out to grass now will benefit from a similar management approach as it will help to maximise growth rates and bulling activity.”
Paul continued: “The Liquid Gold range represents the next generation in chelated mineral and vitamin drenches.

“The HVS Liquid Gold range represents a key breakthrough in the development of chelated mineral and vitamin drenches.
“Our staff will be available to discuss the new product range at this year’s Balmoral Show.”
HVS will also be featuring the HVS mineral range and the natural feed additive Fermenten at Balmoral. Fermenten can be offered to young suckled calves from the period when creep feed is made available through until they are year olds.
Trial work both here and in Scotland has confirmed that when offered at a rate of 100 grammes per day – either as part of a blend or compound nut - the growth advantages achieved will ensure that animals can be finished three months’ earlier and at the same carcase weight as stock that did not receive Fermenten at all.
