An entry of 1160 sheep at Markethill on Wednesday 10th June sold in a further improved trade for fat lambs.
Cull ewe trade was also improved on the week.
The 780 lambs sold in a firmer trade. Light lambs sold to 372p per kilo for 22.6 kilos @ £84 each, with all good quality pens from 345p to 364p per kilo. The entire entry of light lambs sold averaged 22.7 kilos @ £78.50 (346p).
Heavy lambs sold steadily from £80 to £85 each with a top of £86 paid for 24 kilos (358p). Main demand sold from 338p to 354p per kilo. The entire entry of heavy lambs averaged 24.6 kilos @ £83.50 each (339p)
Good quality cull ewes sold from £80 to £99 each with 2nd quality pens from £58 to £75 each.
Another good entry of ewes & lambs sold in an excellent trade. Good quality doubles sold to £225 with several more from £180 to £218 each. Singles sold from £130 to £157 each.
