Details have just been announced for potentially the largest sale of commercial cattle from one herd in Northern Ireland this year.
James and Nelson Alexander, Randalstown are to disperse the spring/summer calving portion of their suckler herd at Ballymena Mart on Saturday 21st March, 11am. All stock are eligible for immediate export on sale day.
There are 170 cows and 30 top notch heifers set to come under the hammer without reserve, as the Alexanders are keen to focus more on their busy tractor sales business.
They are due to calve from sale time right through to early summer, and have all been certified in calf.
In addition purchasers can buy with confidence as all are vaccinated for Rotavec.
The Jalex herd is also a member of CHeCs health scheme.
These are mostly Limousin bred stock with a mix of Simmental, Angus and Blue featuring throughout the herd.
The cows and heifers for the sale are carrying in calf to top bulls such as the mighty Swarland Eddie and Larkhill Emerald (Limousin) and Sarkley Glenfiddich (Charolais)
Also included in the sale are 10 cows with calf at foot, and around a dozen show potential calves.
