An entry of 2,100 sheep in Markethill on Wednesday 7th September returned a steady trade for far lambs.
Store lambs sold in the firmest trade so far this season.
Heavy lambs sold from £82 to £87 each and from 330p to a top of 354p per kilo for 24 kilos at £85 each.
Good quality middleweights sold from 345p to 377p per kilo for 22 kilos at £83 each, followed by 376p per kilo for 21 kilos at £79 each.
Light stores sold to 441p per kilo for 12.7 kilos at £56 each for a Kilcoo farmer. Main demand sold from 365p to 429p per kilo. Stronger stores sold to 398p per kilo for 17.7 kilos at £70.50 each.
Heavy cull ewes sold to £99 each. Main demand sold from £65 to £88 each. Plainer ewes sold from £45 to £60 each.
Breeding hoggets sold in a slower trade with fewer buyers at the ringside. Top price of £155 each, with several pens from £115 to £150 each.
