Another strong seasonal entry of quality cattle on Monday 1st August met a flying trade with a good ring of buyers with some very good prices. More quality stock is required to meet demand.

Heifers selling to £790 for 370kg (£2.14 per kg), Bullocks selling to £725 for 350kgs (£2.07 per kg).

Heifers: Swatragh Producer 370kg, £790; 376kg, £730; Feeny Producer 346kg, £535; Magherafelt Producer 416kg, £790; Swatragh Producer 600kg, £1,000; Garvagh Producer 374kg £690; 342kg £535.

Bullocks: Maghera Producer 350kg, £725; Swatragh Producer 398kg £750; 318kg £660; Magherafelt Producer 500kg £800; 508kg £780; 518kg, £810; Swatragh Producer 508kg £980; 578kg £1,100

Sheep: Another super entry of 1,285 sheep at Swatragh on Saturday 30th July witnessed a very good lamb trade. Several pens of heavy lambs sold well in excess of £75.00 each to a top rate of £80.00. Middleweight lambs sold to £74.80 for 23.25kg. Store lambs sold to £62.50 for 18.25kg and ewes sold to £83.00 with over 270 on offer.
