An entry of 1860 sheep at Markethill on Wednesday sold in a slower trade, however there was a 97% clearance of sheep on offer.
Heavy lambs sold from £62 to £66 each and from 250p per kilo to 264p per kilo for 24.6 kilos at £65 each.
Middleweight lambs sold to 287p per kilo for 21.6 kilos at £62 each. All good quality pens sold from 270p to 282p per kilo.
A very good turnout of stores returned a firm trade with good quality pens from 290p to 330p per kilo with a top of 338p per kilo for 17.1 kilos at £58 each. Stronger pens sold to 324p per kilo for 19.4 kilos at £63 each. A large entry of 420 cull ewes sold readily. Good quality ewes sold from £60 to £76 each with plainer ewes from £40 to 55 each.
