An entry of 1810 sheep at Markethill on Wednesday 14th October returned a firmer demand for fat lambs and stores.
Heavy lambs sold to £75 each with a further 15 pens selling from £68 to £72 each. Top rate of 286p per kilo was paid for 25.2kilos at £72 each. All good quality pens sold from 270p to 284p per kilo.
Good quality middleweights sold from 280p to 311p per kilo for 20 kilos at £62.20 each.
Light stores sold from 310p to 348p per kilo for 12.3 kilos at £43 each. Stronger pens sold to 318p per kilo for 18.5kilos at £59 each. Main demand sold from 290p to 312p per kilo.
The 220 cull ewes sold to £79 each. Main demand sold from £60 to £78 each.
Breeding hoggets sold from £100 to £110 each. Rams sold to £230 for a Shearling Charollais.
