An entry of 1760 sheep at Markethill on Wednesday 21st October returned a steady trade.
Heavy lambs sold to £72 each with most pens selling from £67 to £70.50 each. Top rate of 294p per kilo was paid for 24 kilos at £70.50 each. All good quality pens sold from 265p to 279p per kilo.
Middleweight lambs sold to 308p per kilo for 20.1 kilos at £62 each. All good quality pens sold from 280p to 295p per kilo.
Light store lambs sold to 384p per kilo for 16.6 kilos at £64 each. Several pens sold from 300p to 360p per kilo for 15 kilos at £54 each. Stronger stores sold from 290p to 329p per kilo for 19 kilos at £62.50 each.
Cull ewes sold to £83 each with all good ewes from £65 to £80 each. Plainer ewes sold from £40 to £55 each.
In the breeding ring a Texel ram lamb sold at £290. Others sold from £150 to £220 each. Ewe hoggets sold to £135 each with several pens from £100 to £125 each.
