Probably one of the best ever cattle sales for July on Friday last.

A big entry of suckler cows sold to £1600 for a Ballykilbeg farmer with others at £1500, £1480, £1480. 9 cows with calves at foot from £1160 to £1600. Fat cows were also a terrific trade to £1135 for a 780k Angus from Ballyward. Fr Cows to £895 for 710k from Aughnahoory. Hereford cows to £840 for 670k from Ballinran. The 55 bullock excelled in price e.g. Mayobridge farmer 640k Lim at £1275 or £635 over. Ballymartin farmer: 620k Lim at £1225 or £605 over. Heifers sold to £1070, £1065, £1065 and £1055 for a Kilkeel farmer. A 460k heifer from Ballyveamore sold at £990. 54 weanlings cleared up to £890 for a 380k Ch from Castlewellan. £810 was paid for a 398k BB from Dromara. The dropped calf section contained calves up to 4 months old. A Moneydarragh farmer sold a pen of MBE bulls at £530, £490 and £380 with heifers to £560. A Kilkeel farmer sold a Lim bull at £520.
