The Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster (YFCU) annual ten pin bowling competition recently took place at Dundonald Ice Bowl and Brunswick Movie Bowl.
Between the two venues thirty five teams competed in this popular event.
Due to the growing popularity of the ten pin bowling the event saw a change from previous years with two venues needed to hold the high numbers for the popular event, rising from 20 clubs last year to a staggering 35 this year.
Teams had the chance to play two games and the team with the highest overall pinfall won.
This year’s Brunswick winning team was Dungiven YFC – Rachel Simpson, Daniel Buchanan, James Purcell, Matthew Gault and Robert Alcorn who picked up the trophy.
At Dundonald venue the trophy went home with Moycraig YFC– Claire Walker, Mark McAlister, Chris McKernan, John McLean, Robert Getty.
The commiseration prize for the two venues were, at the Brunswick Movie Bowl, Castlecaulfield YFC- Emily Burrows, Adam McIvor, Blaire Murray, Jake Marshall, Vicki Calvert. At Dundonald Ice Bowl,Ballymiscaw YFC- Lewis Pearson, Zak Elkin, Stephen Martin, James Ritchie, Kyle Rogan. Both teams were good sports and didn’t leave empty handed.
