Muckamore WI members enjoy cookery demonstrations

Members of Muckamore WI were entertained by fishermens wives from Kilkeel at their November meeting.

A cookery demonstration was given using smoked cod, haddock, whiting, queenies and crab meat.

Nutritional value information was given for the fish that was used.

A humorous and informative talk was expressed on how coming from different backgrounds and being a fisherman’s wife affects their lives. Elaine Knox proposed the Vote of Thanks to the ladies for travelling from Kilkeel and giving such an informative talk while demonstrating the cooking of such a variety of fish.

The Competition for A Healthy Tip was won by Jean McCollam, second Florence McFarland, third Marjorie Hamilton.

Birthday girl for November was Sandra McCloy.

Members are reminded that Santa will be at the next meeting in December.

A gift to the value of £5 should be brought along.

Non-perishable food items and toys for The Christmas hampers would be appreciated for the charities Homestart and The Haven.

Muckamore WI ladies get fit

The members of Muckamore WI are looking forward to their Zumba class which will commence on Wednesday 18th November at 10am in Rathmore Memorial Hall and will run for six weeks.

Zumba is a fitness programme which involves dance and an aerobic element.

It is a safe way to get active and suitable for all ages.

This will be a good opportunity to improve your health with physical activity which plays an important role in the long term.
