Holstein UK is delighted to announce that Richard Jones has joined the organisation as its new chief executive officer.
Mr Jones, who hails from a North Pembrokeshire farming family, joins Holstein UK from the National Library of Scotland where he was employed as the company secretary taking responsibility for strategy and planning, compliance, governance, audit, procurement and policy development.
During his time in this position, Mr Jones was also responsible for International Fundraising and income generation, explained Holstein UK chairman Andrew Dutton.
“Mr Jones has held previous roles as a chief executive officer and has a wealth of experience in the charities sector.
“We are looking forward to having someone of his considerable experience guiding Holstein UK through the next stage of the organisation’s development during what promises to be an exciting period for the breed and all involved.”
Mr Dutton added that with its focus on youth and providing services to help dairy farmers both maximise productivity and profitability, Holstein UK was well placed to help farmers in the current dairy climate.
“Through both Holstein UK and Cattle Information Services, society members and non-members can access a wide range of services to help with herd management and ensure cows are performing to their potential.
“Holstein Young Breeders also provides a great educational and social function for younger members which is much valued by both younger members and their families,” he added.
“I am sure society members join me in welcoming Mr Jones to Holstein UK and will look forward to meeting him in the months to come.”
