United Auctions has redesigned the format of the Stirling Bull Sales this month to accommodate the needs of exhibitors and buyers at this busy time of year.
The Autumn Bull Sales at Stirling Agricultural Centre will feature 730 pedigree bulls and females on show and sale from Sunday, October 18th to Tuesday, October 20th 2015.
Independent property consultancy CKD Galbraith is sponsoring the event hosted by Scotland’s leading livestock auctioneers for the ninth consecutive year.
The more compact timetable now features pre-sale judging of Aberdeen-Angus and Beef Shorthorn on Sunday, October 18th after the morning breed inspections. The Angus and Shorthorn sales will then take place the following day on Monday, October 19th.
John Roberts, sales director and auctioneer at UA, said: “The new format ensures we meet the needs and demands of our customers, making the best use of their time away from the farm.
“While the number of bulls are slightly down on last year, we’re particularly excited about the quality.”
David Brown, sales director at UA will auctioneer the total herd sale of the Weeton Aberdeen-Angus herd from RJ and D Loftus of Preese Hall, Preston on Monday.
He said: “This will be one of the highlights of the event. It is one of the most exciting herds of Angus cattle to be offered and includes nine daughters of the record-priced Blelack Eyrie G197.”
Monday will also see a large number (120) of Aberdeen-Angus females go under the hammer with no less than 102 Beef Shorthorn females with go through the ring the same day.
Guest of honour at the event will be Stirling Council’s Provost, Mike Robbins.
Full catalogue details for the sales are available on the Stirling Bull Sales’ page of UA’s website along with access to the sale ring’s live webcam. And UA’s Facebook page will share as-it-happens news and updates. Opportunities for photographs are available from Sunday.
