A large turnout of committee members, supporters and friends attended the Annual General Meeting of the Armagh County Show.
One of the functions of the meeting was to elect the officers for the coming year and to set the ball rolling for the Annual Show in 2015 which will be held in Gosford Forest Park on Saturday 13th June.
The Chairman, Stephen Hamilton, thanked everyone for attending and introduced the speakers for the evening: Billy Robson, President of the Royal Ulster Agricultural Society and Jim Harrison, President of the Irish Shows Association (ISA).
Following the Secretary’s and Treasurer’s reports, Billy Robson was invited to conduct the election of officers for the coming year. A full list of the elected office bearers for 2015 can be viewed on the website at www.armaghshow.com
Billy Robson then gave a short talk on the running of the Balmoral Show over the past two years at the new venue at Balmoral Park at the Maze.
Jim Harrison, President of the ISA, congratulated Armagh Show on the success of last year’s show and outlined details of a new all-Ireland Cooking Competition to be held at selected shows throughout the country in 2015. He was delighted to announce that Armagh County Show had been selected to run the competition in the Northern Region.
Following the talks, the Chairman, Stephen Hamilton thanked the speakers for their contributions and the meeting closed with supper.
