The Northern Ireland Ploughing Association (NIPA) today announced that it is returning to Balmoral Park for their annual event on 9th – 10th October 2015.
The 72nd Northern Ireland International Ploughing Championships provides a platform for over 50 qualified competitors from NI and ROI to compete in seven different classes: World Style Conventional, World Style Reversible, Vintage Class, Horse Class, Horse Style and Appearance Class, Young Farmers Class and Ladies Class.
Growing on the success of its debut at Balmoral Park last year, preparation are well underway to make 2015 even bigger and better. With the new Eikon Exhibition Centre as the backdrop and acres of fertile neighbouring land to plough, excitement and anticipation is building.
The Ploughing Championships are an ideal meeting place for anyone involved in the agricultural industry and their families. It is an opportunity to see top ploughmen display their skills for the honour of being crowned a Northern Ireland champion and representing their country on European and World stages.
In addition many attractions, trade stands and an exciting entertainment schedule will enthral the crowds and prove a fantastic family day out.
The addition of an agri themed mud run will add to the excitement on Saturday 10th, details of which will be revealed soon.
RUAS operations director Rhonda Geary commented: “We are delighted to have the NI Ploughing Championships making a return to Balmoral Park. The venue gives the NIPA plenty of space and potential to grow as well as showcasing Balmoral Park as the premier location for agri events.”
