A noticeable improvement on sheep prices in the first sale of January.

Heavy hoggets sold consistently to over £80 per head to a top of £83.50 for 30k from Slievenaboley. Downpatrick farmer: 25k at £80. Emdale farmer: 24k at £80. Tryella farmer: 40 hoggets, 25k at £80. Clough farmer: 54 hoggets, 25k at £80.50. Second Clough farmer: 22k at £75.50 or 343 pence per kilo. Banbridge farmer: 24.5k at £79. All hoggets from 23k up averaged 320 pence per kilo.
