Agriculture Minister Michelle O’Neill MLA has commended CAFRE staff on the positive feedback received by the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) in a recent Education and Training Inspectorate (ETI) report.
The report follows an inspection of food and agriculture industry training courses across the three CAFRE campuses earlier this year which found the quality of training and learning provided by the college to be “very good”.
The minister, commenting on the report, said: “This report acknowledges the high standard of industry training provided across all three CAFRE campuses to the local agri-food sector as a whole. The report identifies the very strong linkages CAFRE maintains with industry, along with excellent strategic leadership and well qualified staff.
“This report endorses the strength of quality agri-food education provision by CAFRE as it continues to deliver a suite of programmes that both meet the needs of industry and support the development of rural businesses.”
The minister concluded “Our agri-food industry strives to market excellent produce around the world and this report highlights CAFRE’s contribution to the reputation of the industry and development of the rural economy.”
A report outlining the findings of the inspection is available from ETI or on their website at http://www.etini.gov.uk/evaluation-of-industry-training-in-the-college-of-agriculture-food-and-rural-enterprise.htm.
