Robert McIlroy, Senior Project Manager, and Bronagh Luke, Head of Corporate Marketing, both from the Henderson Group have launched the 2015 SPAR competition for the Balmoral Show which takes place from 13th-15th May.
Now in their fifth year as a Platinum Sponsor of the Show, SPAR will once again be bringing their fully-functional pop-up shop where show visitors can enjoy fresh sandwiches, coffee, tea and muffins to keep energy levels up over the three day spectacular.
Visitors will also be encouraged to take part in this exciting competition, where they have the chance to win one of two ‘Ride On’ John Deere Tractors. Guests need only complete a short entry form and post it into the SPAR Cow.
Unveiled at last year’s event, the specially commissioned SPAR Cow was hand-painted by Belfast artist Phillip Rees.
The unique piece of art will be located at SPAR’s new ‘enjoy local’ Marquee, located beside the SPAR arena, where guests can enjoy sampling a range of SPAR’s recently launched own brand fresh food products along with some family fun in an exciting new children’s play area.
Bronagh Luke, Head of Corporate Marketing at Henderson Group, owners of the SPAR franchise in Northern Ireland explained: “We are absolutely delighted to be a Platinum Sponsor of the Balmoral Show for a 5th year and are thrilled to further our involvement in the event through the sponsorship of the SPAR Arena. Along with providing family friendly entertainment, the arena is perfectly situated for show-goers to visit us in the ‘enjoy local’ marquee, enter our fabulous competition and try out some of our tasty new ‘enjoy local’ products, all produced by top-quality suppliers from across Northern Ireland.”
SPAR will also be highlighting its focus on sourcing the best fresh locally-produced food by holding a celebration event for its top suppliers at the Balmoral Show. The annual SPAR Local Suppliers’ Awards will be held on Friday 15th May and will mark the excellent produce, practices and ranges of the companies it works with.
She continued: “Having such a key presence at the Balmoral Show allows us to strengthen our links with the agri-food industry as we encourage our shoppers to not only enjoy local produce but to enjoy local events too. We are looking forward to meeting all the visitors and having a successful three days at the show.”
