Police in Armagh have welcomed the sentence handed down at Newry Crown Court on 16 October, 2015, for livestock theft.

Twenty three year old Peadar Donnelly was sentenced to one year’s probation and 80 hours of community service for burglary and fraud by false representation after stealing five cattle from a farm on Tullyroan Road during November 2013.

Constable Ross Turner said: “This case took almost two years to come to court and this result brings some closure for the owner of the cattle. We worked closely with DARD during this investigation and hope this outcome shows that we are committed to working with our partners to address rural crime and bring offenders before the courts.”
