The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs is hosting a series of information awareness events on the Farm Business Improvement Scheme – Capital.

These events are being held between 7-17 November 2016 at six venues across Northern Ireland.

l CAFRE, Enniskillen, Monday 7 November

l CAFRE, Loughry, Wednesday 9 November

l CAFRE, Greenmount, Thursday 10 November

l Lodge Hotel, Coleraine, Monday 14 November

l Millbrook Lodge, Ballynahinch, Wednesday 16 November

l Armagh City Hotel, Thursday 17 November

Short presentations on various aspects of the scheme, and an opportunity for questions, will take place at 1pm, 3pm, 5pm and 7.30pm each day at each location. Farmers and growers are encouraged to come along to a daytime session if possible.

There is no need to pre-register for these events. Farmers and growers can go to the venue that is most suitable for them.

The road shows will provide an opportunity for farmers and growers to hear more about the FBIS - Capital Scheme. Presentations throughout the day will cover the key features of the scheme. There will also be an opportunity for applicants to ask questions about the scheme and talk to DAERA staff.

It is not compulsory to attend the road shows in order to make an application to the FBIS Capital Scheme. However, attendance will help to equip farmers and growers with the information they need to consider which Tier of the scheme, if any, is most suitable to their business needs and also what they need to do next.

Completed applications for FBIS-Capital Tier 1 are to be submitted by 4pm on Friday 16 December 2016. Completed applications for FBIS-Capital Tier 2 are to be submitted from Monday 19 December 2016 to 4pm on Friday 24 February 2017.

The FBIS-Capital Scheme is not a first-come, first-served scheme, and applicants who submit an online application will receive extra marks.
