Santa pays a visit to the members of Muckamore WI

President, Margaret McGreggor, welcomed everyone to the December meeting of Muckamore WI.

Members had brought a great array of groceries etc which were handed over to Margaret Thompson and Eva Molloy from Homestart in Antrim which would be used to make up hampers to give to families in need in the local area.

Margaret thanked the members for their generosity and how appreciative Homestart was of the ongoing support from Muckamore WI.

Members were then delighted to be entertained by fellow members, Mary Thomspon and Heather Kerr, who demonstrated their floral art skills resulting in beautiful arrangements which they then donated as prizes for the raffle. Mary and Heather were thanked on behalf of the members by Joan Gray.

After a festive supper, Elizabeth Gray and Jean McCollam, games organisers, quizzed members on how advanced their preparations for Christmas were, establishing a points league to identify Muckamore WI Queen of Christmas, Liz Kelly emerged as winner. The monthly competition was for a Christmas napkin, 1st Roberta McCullough, 2nd Gwen Campbell, 3rd Joan Gray. The birthday girl for the month was Sylvia Saffron. During the evening a special visitor appeared, Santa, and each member received a gift from the big red sack. The evening ended singing Christmas carols and the president wishing everyone a happy Christmas.
