Taking the top call of 2900gns at Saturday’s Scottish Texel Club sale of in-lamb ewes at Lanark was a gimmer from the Clark family’s Garngour flock, with this being CFT 1302371, a Strathbogie Smokey Blue daughter.
She’s out of a dam by Rascarrel Panther and goes back to Knock Oregano. She sold in-lamb to Castlecairn Vavavoom and sold to an undisclosed buyer having been reserve champion in the pre-sale show.
Second best of the day at 1400gns was the champion from the pre-sale show from Steven Renwick’s Craig Douglas flock. This was XSR1307511, a daughter of Ettrick Tam o’ Shanter and out of a dam by Ettrick Rob Roy.
This one sold in-lamb to Sportsmans Unbeatable and was bought by the judge William Boyd, Dechmont.
Then making 1000gns was an Overhouse gimmer from the Copland family, Orkney. This was CBA1301326, an Allanfauld Souter Johnny daughter out of a dam by Glenside Nibscot. She sold in-lamb to Hilltop Specialist and went to the same buyer as the top priced lot.
And following her at 950gns was the best of the sale from Robert Cockburn’s Knap flock, CKP1304979, an Ettrick Rainbow Warrior daughter out of a dam by Baltier Kracker. She sold carrying to Ettrick Van Gogh and was bought by J and A Struthers, Boyleston.
Leading the ewe lamb prices at 450gns was a Kypeview lamb from Gordon Graham. She was GGK1400215, a Stainton Uncle Brian daughter out of a dam by Douganhill Jeronimo. She sold to Alex Leggate, Stramalloch.
