Solway and Tyne Texels hit 1100gns high

Top call in the Solway and Tyne Texel Club’s sale of in-lamb females at Carlisle on Friday (11 December) was an 1100gns call for the first prize gimmer and overall champion from R S and J Bradley and Son’s Far Hey flock.

This was the Anglezarke Uno daughter BRF1400224 an ET bred gimmer out of an Allanfauld Rockafella daughter and going back to Durisdeer Lotus. She sold carrying to Millar’s Who’s The Boy and was knocked down to J S Lodge, Moss, Doncaster.

Following that at 1000gns was Ryan Bradley’s best of the sale, BYK1400139. This one is also by Anglezarke Uno and is out of a dam by Carran Sutherland’s Star. She sold in-lamb to Millar’s Who’s The Boy also and was bought by Steve and Sheri Richardson, Barnsley.

Next best at 900gns was another from the Far Hey flock, BRF1400220. This is another Uno daughter and is out of a Baltier Panther daughter. She is also in-lamb to Millar’s Who’s The Boy and was bought by Giles Pyman, Stainton, Penrith.

Then trading at 850gns was another from Ryan Bradley, BYK1400130. This ET bred gimmer is again by Uno and is out of a dam by Connachan Rhino. She was sold in lamb to Millar’s Who’s The Boy and was bought by D K and J Thomas, Dryslwyn.

Following her at 750gns was Angus McColm’s best of the sale from the Crailloch flock. This was MAE1401531, a daughter of Crailloch UK and out of a Glenside King II daughter. Sold in-lamb to Procters Wildcard she was bought by J Maxwell and Son, Whithorn, Newton Stewart.

Averages; four ewes £315, 54 gimmers £441.97, one ewe lamb £294 (Harrison and Hetherington).
