Sheep: A very strong seasonal entry of 645 sheep at Swatragh on Saturday 19th December witnessed a slightly better lamb trade than the previous week.
Several pens of heavy lambs sold well in excess of £71.00 each to a top rate of £74.00, middleweight lambs sold to £63.80 for 21.25kg while store lambs were excellent again and sold to £51.00 for 15.5kg, ewes sold to £71.50 while ewes and lambs sold to £201.00.

Middleweight lambs: Maghera producer 8 lambs 21.25kg at 63.80 = 399p; Claudy producer 19 lambs 21.25kg at 63.00 = 296p; Maghera producer 10 lambs 22.4kg at 66.40 = 296p; Maghera producer 21 lambs 22.75kg at 66.50 = 292p.
Store lambs: Draperstown producer 10 lambs 15.5kg at 51.00 = 329p; Feeny producer 4 lambs 13kg at 41.50 = 319p; Dungiven producer 14 lambs 18.5kg at 56.00 =3.03p.
Ewes: Garvagh producer 6 Texels at 71.50; Maghera producer 1 Texel at 70.00.
