Fane Valley and its group of companies joined forces recently to help collect hundreds of toys and gifts for the Business In The Community appeal ‘Cares @ Christmas’ in aid of Action for Children.
Staff from across multiple sites at Fane Valley, Linden Foods and White’s Oats have been collecting toys, vouchers, games, cosmetics, books, puzzles, teddies, colouring sets, hair dryers, aftershaves and perfumes and much more over the recent weeks to the value of over £3,500 for this very worthy children’s charity.
This is the second year Fane Valley has committed to this initiative and the business say this wider group staff appeal is firmly fixed into the calendar for years to come.
Fane Valley Chief Executive, Trevor Lockhart said: “We are very happy to be able to contribute towards the overall Cares @ Christmas target for the second year running. Our staff has once again shown their generosity and willingness to help and support those in need.
“We believe in helping our community in whatever capacity we can; especially the local families and children that are struggling this Christmas.
“ We are proud to be a member of ‘Business In The Community’ and delighted to be able to support their Christmas appeal in aid of Action for Children.”
Speaking at the collection day Denise Cranston Business Development Manager, Business In The Community, said: “Action for Children and I have just been overwhelmed by the generosity shown here today by Fane Valley and its group of companies. They have raised the bar from last year and we are extremely delighted to have one of our members show such devotion and kindness towards our appeal for the children.
“The gifts on show here range from kid’s toys to young adults cosmetics, grooming sets and vouchers. On Christmas morning the children will be receiving some wonderful and thoughtful presents from Fane Valley.”
