The council of the Royal Ulster Agricultural Society has announced that His Royal Highness The Earl of Wessex has graciously agreed to continue as the society’s patron for a further term.
Chief executive Colin McDonald said: “The society’s period of strategic change continues and the encouragement of His Royal Highness has been of tremendous help to date. His Royal Highness is fully supportive of the plans to redevelop the King’s Hall Complex and is particularly pleased with the delivery of the Eikon Exhibition Centre at our new home at Balmoral Park.
“His Royal Highness’s interest in the province’s agri-food sector helps the society in its mission to promote agriculture. This is particularly important as the Ssciety prepares to play its role in supporting ‘Northern Ireland Year of Food and Drink 2016’.”
