CO CORK-BASED John and Kait Tait of the Westellen Aberdeen-Angus herd, Rostellen, Midleton, are pleased to announce the private sale of their September 2011-born show bull Westellen Freddie L716 for an undisclosed price to Ben and Elaine Ryall, Cork, Co Cork.

Freddie is by proven sire Tonroe Udi and is out of the Aynho Rossiter Eric B125 sired daughter Luddenmore Flora J030 who goes back to the successful Flora line in one of Scotland’s finest Angus herd, Netherton.

Mr Ryall, who owns the Fellfort herd, has purchased the bull to run as main herd sire in his 80-cow autumn and spring calving herd. Speaking about his purchase he said: “I’ve followed the success of this bull at various show outings in the summer and the combination of his proven pedigree and performance figures, as well as his ideal Angus breed characteristics, length, mobility and ease of calving, means he’s a natural choice for my herd.”

Performance wise, Freddie is a five star rated bull for calving ease and maternal traits, explains breeder John Tait. “Freddie is a modern, clean Angus bull, while retaining breed characteristics such as a good head with plenty of breed character, easy calving and size and stretch. His show success to date has included being a prize winner at both the All Ireland Show at Virginia last summer and the Irish Calf Show held last November.

“We’re delighted to have sold a bull to the Fellfort herd and would like to wish Ben Ryall the very best with his purchase and look forward to following the performance of Freddie’s progeny.”
