The Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster (YFCU) held its annual NI Rally Day, sponsored by YFCU platinum sponsor Danske Bank, in October 2014 at Loughry campus.
Over 100 YFCU members attended the Rally Day and took part in a series of workshops building knowledge on a wide range of skills which were delivered as part of a programme of work developed by YFCU and DARD which aims to specifically address the needs of young farmers and young people living in rural areas.
The PSNI held an informative workshop on preventing rural crime.
A mental health workshop by Beam Creative Network used interactive drama and activities to promote positive mental health and increase understanding of issues that may affect young people in particular.
YFCU members John Cochrane, Jessica Reid and Mitchell Parks delivered a workshop on their experiences of taking part in the YFCU exchange programme and encouraged all members to apply for next year’s programme.
Members of the YFCU Special Purposes Committee (SPC) organised a range of fun games for everyone as the final workshop.
The YFA were on hand to provide lunch for all attendees who attended the Rally Day.
Junior YFCU Member of the Year County Londonderry winner Laura Fulton, Dungiven YFC received her plaque from YFCU President Martyn Blair. Winners of the SPC workshop also received prizes on the day.
