Heifers sell to £1,345 for 554k at Markethill

An entry of 720 cattle at Markethill on Saturday 11th March continued to sell in an exceptionally strong trade for all classes of stock.

Buyers and sellers from throughout Northern Ireland were in attendance.

HEIFERS: The 200 heifers sold in an excellent trade with forward heifers selling to £243 per 100 kilos for 554k Char at £1,345 from an Enniskillen farmer followed by £238 per 100 kilos for 512k at £1,220 from a Belleeks farmer. All good quality forward heifers from £200 to £232 per 100 kilos. Good quality middleweight heifers from £200 to £228 per 100 kilos for 452k at £1,030 from a Tassagh farmer.

All good quality forward bullocks sold from £200 to £232 per 100 kilos for 526k at £1,220. Good quality middleweight steers sold from £210 to £238 for 440k at £1,045 from a Scarva farmer. Lightweights sold from £210 to £258 per 100 kilos for 370k at £955 from a Keady producer. Suitable Friesian bullocks from £140 to £165 for 530k at £880 from a Katesbridge producer.
